MindSpill (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Neon Media LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the MindSpill mobile application.
MindSpill uses on-device speech recognition powered by WhisperKit. Your voice recordings are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or any third party. Audio files are temporary and deleted after transcription completes. We do not store, transmit, or access your voice recordings.
If you capture or select a photo, MindSpill extracts text from it on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The image itself never leaves your device. Only the extracted text is sent for processing, in the same way as typed text. Captured images are stored on your device and are removed when you delete the dump or your account.
When you tap the process button, the text of your brain dump is sent to our secure server for AI-powered extraction of tasks, notes, dates, and other structured information. This processing is performed using Anthropic's Claude API. The text is processed in real-time and is not stored permanently on our servers. Under Anthropic's Commercial Terms, your content is never used to train their models. Anthropic retains API logs for a short period (currently 7 days) for operational and safety purposes.
If “Help improve MindSpill” is enabled in Settings, we store anonymous patterns about how tasks are broken into steps. These records contain no account identifier and are not linked to you. You can turn this off at any time in Settings.
MindSpill requires a Sign in with Apple account. This is how your content is associated with you and kept separate from other users. When you sign in, we receive only the information Apple provides: a unique user identifier and, optionally, your name and email address. We use this solely for account authentication and cloud sync.
With a MindSpill Pro subscription, when you sign in your dumps, tasks, and notes are synced to our cloud database (powered by Supabase) so you can access them across devices. This data is encrypted in transit using TLS and stored securely. Without an active subscription, your data remains on your device only and is not synced.
MindSpill Pro subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details. Subscription management is handled by Apple.
MindSpill accesses your Calendar and Reminders only when you explicitly choose to export tasks. We read calendar events solely to detect scheduling conflicts. We do not store, upload, or share your calendar data.
MindSpill does not access your device's GPS location. When a location is mentioned in your brain dump (e.g., “meeting at Starbucks on Main St”), the AI extracts it as text. This location text may be included when exporting to Calendar or Reminders.
MindSpill does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services, and we do not display ads. We keep operational logs of AI processing requests — including timing and volume — to monitor service costs and detect abuse. These are not used to build a profile of you or shared with anyone.
Your dumps, tasks, and notes are stored on your device using SwiftData. If you use cloud sync, data is also stored on our Supabase servers. You can delete individual dumps in the app, or delete your entire account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes all your data from our servers and from your device.
MindSpill is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption for data in transit, secure server infrastructure via Supabase, and Apple's Keychain for sensitive credentials stored on your device.

You have the right to access your personal data, delete individual items or your entire account from within the app, export your data via share and export features, and opt out of cloud sync by not subscribing to Pro.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the “Last updated” date above.
